GENERAL INFORMATION  The NECCO Candy Co. in Cambridge, MA celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1947, the same year as the Stearn's centennial.  An engineer who worked with Baston at Greer's during the war returned to his job at NECCO.  He told Baston of the company's plans.  Baston contacted the company and they agreed on a design.  The first and only order for the figurine was for 5,000 pieces.  The "Necco SWEETS" on the right side of the candy counter is in bright red.
In 1949, Baston received permission to remove the "NECCO" emphasis and place the design through retail distribution.  It was one of the most popular Sebastian designs.
In 1958, when he was converting some designs to pen stands, Baston received an additional 1,000 piece order from NECCO for the 11-year-old design.

From Dr. Glenn Johnson's book, The Sebastian Miniature Collection.

In 1990, the TV shopping network QVC ordered a quantity of this piece as well as SML-122, A Corner Drug Store for sale on television.  The Candy Store piece was modified somewhat by Woody Baston from the standard Lance version then in production by adding a textured base.  (The Corner Drug Store piece was similarly modified.)
