ABBREVIATION EXPLANATION
(AL) Arlington Era.  The earliest Sebastians were produced in Prescott W. Baston's workshop in Arlington, Massachusetts. In operation from 1938 to early 1945.
BP Bonded Porcelain
DF Discontinued Forever.  A piece for which the mold was destroyed so it could never be made again.
(HC) Hudson Creek era.  For a brief period between 1996, this company was set up by Prescott W. Baston Jr. and others to assume the operations of Lance Corporation.  Sebastians manufactured during this period are identified by this abbreviation.
(L) or (Lance) Lance Era.  Miniatures manufactured by the Lance Corporation of Hudson, Massachusetts.  Includes many pewter items.  1968 - 1998.
LC Large Castings.  Used to identify larger miniatures.
LE Limited Edition.  The production of an item was limited either by a fixed quantity or by a final production date. 
(M) Marblehead Era.  Figures that were produced in Baston's Marblehead, Massachusetts studio - from early 1945 to1968.
OES Order of the Eastern Star. A fraternal organization.  Many Sebastian pieces have been designed for this organization.
OWA Other Works of the Artists.  Used to identify miniatures that do not fit into another classifications such as figurines or pewter plates.
PF Pewter Figurine.  A group of Sebastian figurines were manufactured by Lance Corporation over several decades, often as reproductions of Ceramastone figures.  The prefix PF is used to identify these.
PI Private Issue.  An item manufactured to fulfill a specific order and intended for a limited  distribution by the purchaser such as to employees or members.
PP Pewter Plate.  A plate designed by Baston, manufactured by Lance Corporation.  These were manufactured between 1972 and 1978 to commemorate American historical events or as reproductions of Currier and Ives prints.  The prefix PP is used to identify these.

REG Registered Edition - each piece is numbered but there is no preset quantity for the entire edition.

SML Sebastian Miniature Listing.  The basic coding system assigned to each Sebastian figurine, generally in the order it was produced.  Letter codes following the number are used for each variant, for example, SML-123A indicates the first variation, SML-123B the second variations, etc.  Other codes are used to identify other types of miniatures, PF = Pewter Figurine, SP = Sebastian Plate, etc.
SP Sebastian Plate.  A plate with a center of bonded porcelain a pewter rim.  A small number of plates of this type were made between a978 and 1982.
(SPT) Spoontiques era.  Sebastians made offshore for the Spoontiques Company of Stoughton, MA.  Reproductions of about 38 prior Sebastian figurines were manufactured for this company beginning in 1998.
SW Sebastianworld Era.  Issued after January 1, 2000 either as a special web site offering or produced specifically for or through Sebastianworld, Incorporated.
