GENERAL INFORMATION. In 1969, Lance cast Baston's Lexington Minuteman (SML-361), Concord Minuteman (SML-360) and Christopher Columbus (SML-176) sold them as gifts through retail stores. Two small pewter plaques were attached to the Minutemen bases. The Concord plaque reads: "Here once the embattled farmers stood and fired the shot heard round the world." and the Lexington plaque reads: "Stand your ground! Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they want a war, let it begin here."
The figurines were soon (1971) taken off their wooden bases and sold simply as pewter. Relatively few mounted on wood were sold. From Dr. Glenn Johnson's book, The Sebastian Miniature Collection.
