GENERAL INFORMATION. America's Bicentennial celebration was approaching, and Royal Worcester, the British porcelain and china producer, wanted an all-American collector plate series worthy of the event. They contracted Baston to sculpt the series and Lance to cast it in fine pewter. The five-year series (1972-1976) was a highly-popular issue and is positioned today in the Bradford Hall of Fame.
The first in the series, this plate depicts the Boston Tea Party which occurred in Boston harbor on December 16, 1773.From Dr. Glenn Johnson's book, The Sebastian Miniature Collection.
