GENERAL INFORMATION
Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show featured this pair form 1885 to 1902.
William Frederick Cody (1846-1917), born near Davenport, Iowa, was an American plainsman, scout and showman. His adventures with the Poly Express, as an army scout and a buffalo hunter were the basis for later stories told about him. In 1883 he organized his show and toured with it throughout the United States and Europe.
Annie Oakley (1860-1926), original name Phoebe Anne Oakley Mozee, was an expert marksman from childhood on. She was a major attraction of Buffalo Bill's show where she performed remarkable feats of marksmanship. She died in1926 when Prescott Baston was 17years old.
In 1980, Baston mounted these two designs on one base and issued them as Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley. From Dr. Glenn Johnson's book, The Sebastian Miniature Collection.
