GENERAL INFORMATION.  Baston designed Sampling the Stew to accompany the Lobsterman (SML-65).  First named "First Cookbook Author," the title was changed to Sampling the Stew one year after introduction.  The design was incorporated into a pen stand from 1958 to 1967.
Baston's new distributor, Schmid Bros., employed a Texas salesman who insisted the design would sell in the South if it was titled "Yankee Kitchen."  Baston created a new mold, the new title did not help sales in Texas, and production of Yankee Kitchen was stopped in 1950.
