GENERAL INFORMATION. Uncle Mistletoe and Aunt Holly were once the very popular trademarks of Marshall Field and Company, the giant Chicago department store. The store advertising department has seen the R. H. Stearns Sebastian two years before, and commissioned Baston to create an Uncle Mistletoe figurine. He produced 1,500 orders for the store's Christmas season.
Marshall Field ordered 500 more in 1979, thirty years later. By then, Uncle Mistletoe was a thing of the past and few remembered the elfin character. From The Sebastian Miniature Collection by Dr. Glenn S. Johnson.
