GENERAL INFORMATION. Baston sculpted a replica of Auguste Rodin's (1840-1917) Thinker (Le Penseur) for the gift shop in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. He also distributed the bronzed figurine through his gift stores and, from 1958-1967, also provided a silvered design as a pen stand. Baston sold the piece regularly through the years and experienced a "minor boom" every Spring when the figurine was purchased as a graduation gift.
