GENERAL INFORMATION. In 1950, Baston removed the head of the Toll House Pilgrim Man (SML-72), placed it on the body of the Toll House Town Crier (SML-92), and titled the figurine "The Town Crier." He sold it in his retail stores. The design was especially popular in Provincetown (on the tip of Cape Cod) where the town maintains a town crier to the present.
