| comments/observations | SML-171A "Synthetic wood" version used a process & material called Repron to achieve a wood-like effect. Some figures were also painted in brown to enhance this effect. I was used for a limited number of figurines during the mid-1960's. |
GENERAL INFORMATION. The third and last of Baston's Raphael Madonnas, the Sistine Madonna was painted in Rome and now hangs in the Dresden museum. Two hundred pieces were cast in hard synthetic wood and sold locally.
