GENERAL INFORMATION. In 1953, the town of Ashburnham, Massachusetts Service Committee wished to raise funds to help their local servicemen during the Korean War. Baston and the committee decided on a miniature replica of the bronze statue on the campus of nearby Cushing Academy. He painted 100 and bronzed 500.
