GENERAL INFORMATION. Many Sebastian dealers and collectors had requested a Shriner over the years. In 1960, Baston designed Son of the Desert.  the Allepo Temple of Shriners in Boston ordered 100 pieces with their name added to the base.  The Medina Temple in Chicago asked for 200 a year later.  In 1962, Baston changed the name of his original retail piece to "The Shriner."
