GENERAL INFORMATION. A Marblehead acquaintance had ties with the Infantry Training Center at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1960, Marjorie and Woody (then 15) traveled to Georgia and procured photos and books of the heroic statue at the entrance to the famous camp. Baston designed a scale miniature replica and sold it through the PX on the base.
