GENERAL INFORMATION. Baston designed a Scotsman with a green and yellow McNeill Laboratories.  One of their medicines was being promoted as less expensive than other brands. A year later, Baston produced 600 for Brown's department store in Gloucester, Massachusetts.  He used the McMillan tartan of yellow and brown.  The same year he put Sandy in the retail line without the Brown's inscription.
In 1981, Baston painted the tartan the Armstrong green with red tam as a commission for Armstrong's, a dealer in Pomona, California, and produced 11,000 pieces.  In 1982 the "Armstrong's" was removed from the base and put back in the retail line.
