GENERAL INFORMATION. The Masons in Lynn, Massachusetts sponsored a girl's bagpipe band that played at Masonic parades and functions. The group wanted 300 "Blue Belle Highlanders" for use in raising funds for costumes and trips. Baston portrayed her with a red tartan with black stripes and red bagpipe cords. That same year he converted her to "The Piper," with a yellow tartan with red stripes and yellow cords. When Armstrong's in Pomona, CA, commissioned an Armstrong Piper in 1982, Baston changed her tam to red, her tartan to green with red stripes and her pipe cords to green.
