GENERAL INFORMATION. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French people to the United States to commemorate the Centennial of American independence. It was dedicated by President Grover Cleveland on October 28, 1886. It weights 225 tons and is 151 feet to the top of the torch. Yield House Furniture and AT & T commissioned special editions of this particular miniature.
