GENERAL INFORMATION. This figurine portrays the Colonial inn made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's book, Tales of a Wayside Inn. Before the publication of these stories, the inn was known as Howe's Tavern and was run by the same family from 1716 to 1861. This was the first time a plaque design was employed by Woody Baston although his father had often used this approach. The inn still stands and remains popular today.
Longfellow's book include the first publication of The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.
